That’s the 2021 Cairngorm 100 ride done and dusted after a 5am start at Glen Clova. The day was fine and stayed so until the final vetting after 75 mile at Nethybridge. The ride was coordinated to allow the 28 mile riders starting at Clova to ride with the  75 mile riders as far as the Vet Gate at Invercauld.

At Invercauld the 50 mile riders joined the 75 mile class and rode alongside them to Nethybridge picking up the 20 mile riders starting at Tomintoul for the final leg of the route.

For most of the route, riders were able to be tracked via their GPS trackers, however there were period when this was not possible due to the terrain and dead zones.

The horses and riders all did well and it was great to see everyone out and about competing in the fabulous Cairngorms, especially after a tough year or so.

Six riders started the 75 mile class after one was unfortunately vetted out at the  pre ride vetting. At Invercauld, after 28 miles, we lost another two 75 mile riders.

At the finish at Nethybridge, three young riders came over the line together, two in the 75mile class and one in the 50 mile class that had joined then at Invercauld, which was a lovely finish to a long day.
